good idea, made wellThis set is made very well, I have no concerns about it not supporting the weight of my large cat. The instructions are simple enough, and make sense. The hard part is getting any of my cats to even try this product. I have had no luck, even using the attractant. The training kit, as I have said is well made, and I have no complaints about it. That said, I've had it set up for a couple weeks now and none of my cats have shown any interest in trying it. I don't know how it could be improved, but it's just not working, and I think it's mostly my cats not the device, because I previously, successfully trained my Bengal cat, using a similar device. It is also a bit of a pain to remove the tray when I need to use the toilet, but honestly, if my cats were using it, I would happily accept that inconvenience. I do think this would work with cats that have the right personality so I'm giving it 5 stars even though it just didn't work for me.

A little shallow - and priceyI gave up on toilet training our previous cat years ago, but when we got a new kitten recently who wasnt scared of standing on the seat, I figured it might be worth the time to possibly save on years of litter by getting him potty trained; this set provides the basics, and is possible to use while still having human access, but does have drawbacks as well…
The main bowl itself does have a decent amount of depth, and can hold a few cups of litter easily. You have to use something toilet safe of course, which isn't exactly a thing… We use ground corn cobb litter, which is the closest to "toilet safe" as I can find, at least in the smaller amounts the tray can *actually* hold. Despite the depth between the tray and the rim, the internal rings themselves are pretty shallow, and wont hold more than a few tablespoons. This isn't a huge issue with actual use – as long as you stay vigilant at refilling so the cat doesn't become disinterested. Once you start removing rings, this becomes even more difficult to keep filled up without accidentally dropping more in the toilet itself.
The instructions are helpful with training, explaining how to gradually acclimate the cat and estimates on how long it takes. There may be some backsliding, especially if your cat is scared of water, but you can always re-add rings until your cat is comfortable again. The white rim also has clamps to attach to the seat, so avoids sliding around like some other models. The plastic is also strong enough for a normal cat to stand on without flexing.
The only other thing I would mention has to do with the price: the same model seems to be available from multiple sellers with no changes, and for prices ranging from a few dollars more to almost half the price! While this may be a good option for someone looking to toilet train their cat, it may pay to search around if you have your heart set on this one!
