Good for small to medium sized birdsMy cockatiel Cheddar the Shredder has a fantastic time demolishing this toy in just a few days. So…there is a limitation in that it is a lot of money for a toy that does not last. On the other hand, the purpose is for him to enjoy it and he does! After the very soft wood blocks are all chewed up, I take some crinkle paper that I buy separately and tie it on. This extends the usefulness and Cheddar is happy chewing up the paper.

Budgie liked thisThey seemed interested right away and even bonked their beak on the toy. I'm impressed with the quality but I wasn't a fan of the bell. It was a cheap, die hard cast type with the clapper that can easily be removed by naughty parrots. Buyer beware about that part at least! I also don't recommend this toy for much larger than a parakeet, the small chains are a toe and swallowing hazard.

Good parakeet toyOur parakeet is rather dense (ignores chewing block) but he actually chews on the soft balsa wood on this one. He has a fast-growing beak. We think this toy will help him.

My birds favorite toyI wish they had put a metal ring in the middle of the wooden pieces. They came of after a bit of chewing. So , I think the wooden things would stay on longer if they did. He still plays with the toy that is left but this could be improved.
