    Beautiful piece!

    Everybody who visits just loves being greeted by this cat doorbell! It's such a beautiful piece! It's a great way to make your door stoop unique and less boxy/Home Depoty. Waterwood has many different animals and creatures if cat's aren't your thing. My three kids are cat obsessed so we went with the cat doorbell. Wanna know how many times a day they ring the doorbell?? 😉

    3 star for "easy to install". It's not the easiest door bell to install. I had to modify my siding more than a little bit to fit the wire terminals so it would mount flush. Something like that can put people off.

    3 star for "durability". It's a delicate piece. If you drop it it's going to break. I dropped it like 10 times trying to mount it. I don't know what was going on that day…butter fingers or something. I broke the cat's tail and ear. I ended up buying a second one. Hence 3 star "easy to install"

    5 star for "Value for money".

    I looked at reviews when I was thinking about buying it, and I must say I disagree with the other review on this site. It is exactly what the description states – a doorbell cover made of a polyresin (not metal or wood). It seems very solid/durable to me (if treated right). The product is much more vibrant than the picture displays – and that's a good thing. It comes with directions on how to install it, not too difficult. It's about 3.5 inches long/tall, by just over 2 inches wide. It's a great size to be seen, but not be obnoxious. I bought it for my mom (a huge cat-lover), and I know she'll love it. It's a unique gift if you are looking for something for a cat-lover beyond just a bag, shirt, figurine, picture, etc…

    This doorbell is so cute, and it's not likely that anyone else in your neighborhood will have the same one. I just installed it a couple of weeks ago and I've gotten several compliments on it from family and guests.

    OMG so cute

    I just had my house repainted and wanted to add some pizzazz. This cute little fellow is a standout. Doorbell button was very easy to install, but I had to buy a backplate to hide some of the old smootch behind it & had to buy a masonry bit to drill a new hole. (Both very inexpensive).
    IMO, the screws they provide are too puny for masonry but it worked out. Backplate was a blank wooden electrical wall plate into which I drilled a round hole to match the button size. I painted the backplate, then mounted El Gato with E-6000 adhesive, lining up the button holes. The back plate is screwed to the wall with sturdier screws. I painted more appropriate screw heads black and screwed them in just to fill the screw holes in kitty's body.

    Fun doorbell cover

    Fun doorbell cover! It's a little touch of brightness next to the door – colors during the day, soft glow at night. Easy to install. It has been up all summer with no loss of color or chipping. It's made of a pretty tough resin. The bronze screw heads are visible, and enhance the design. Overall, very pleased.

    Colourful doorbell, needs adjustments

    This is a great doorbell, BUT, as it’s have noted it does have an issue. The doorbell itself just sits in the opening (or cat belly). Easy fix, just glue it in with a touch of Krazy Glue or contact cement and problem solved. Other than that, I would caution buyers to ensure that whee they are going to install has a recess large and deep enough to accommodate a cat. 😉
