It works, however our dog hasnt figured it out yet.It works, it was easy to adjust, although my hubby is a tech guy, however our dog has yet to figure it out, we are working on it with him every day though, so hopefully!
Sometimes when you press the paw it doesnt work, so hopefully we teach our dog to press it multiple times if he has to go out.

I love this. This’s our second one for our dog ...I love this. This’s our second one for our dog sitter, so we don’t have to remember to bring this bell everytime we leave our dog with her.
It was quite easy to train our lab to use it, just she’s pressing it with her nose not the paw as it recommended.

Be Careful what you wish for.....This really works. We own a bichon and did not want him scratching doors to signal us that he needed to go out. When we first set it up on the floor the dog had a problem with the concept of standing on it to produce the signal. We elevated the device about 4 inches on a weighted block and secured the device with velcro. We followed the training instructions that are included and had a very happy dog. After only a few days our dog had us completely trained to respond to the chime. We delighted him with our drop everything attitude and reinforced his chime activations with immediate action and treats. This added sense of control gave our dog confidence that we could be trusted to come when chimed. Then we added a second chime device in the family room. Our dog has learned that activation of this device has trained us to respond to a whole array of needs. At 5pm our dog chimes for his dinner. At 7:30pm he chimes for doggy tv and for us to join him on his sofa. We are also trained to respond to walk time and frisbee chimes promptly or face more incessant chimes followed by his jumping on the chimes to produce short rapid signals that force the human into quick submission. Yes, this device not only works it surpassed all expectations. I never dreamed I would be so controlled by my dog and love it.

Didn't Work Consistently from Day 1We got all excited when it arrived. What a great concept. Introduced it to our dog and it worked fine. Minutes later pushed the button again and… nothing. Several times and nothing. Then it started working again. We were reluctant to train our dog if it didn't work every time, so over the course of the next few days we tested it. It worked sometimes and didn't other times for no apparent reason. Sent it back.

Not that loud or able to receive signal from too farI'm a little less than satisfied considering how much these items cost. The ringing unit is not nearly as loud as I had anticipated. I had to find a very central spot for it to be heard reasonably on the two sides of the house, and the house just isn't that big. Additionally, I purchased an additional foot switch so that I could have one by each of the back doors. One of them didn't have enough signal strength to reach the ringer unit which was no more than 30' away!! In the end, I took the foot pedal apart to see what I could do, and brother was it a cheap unit inside. I was able to adjust the one and only potentiometer and the signal strength is now strong enough to reach the ringer unit. As far as useful for the dog, we haven't trained the dog for that yet. I really see no reason why it shouldn't work for that purpose, that depends on the dog. But as a ringer, it leaves a lot to be desired.

Poor product designThe concept here is good. After much training, my dog gets the idea of hitting the doorbell with her foot when she wants to go out. However, the "paw" was designed to be cute rather than functional. The entire paw should be the button. Much of the time, my dog will hit the "paw" with her foot, and not hit the correct spot on the "paw", resulting in no doorbell signal. So it works only a portion of the time, which does not help reinforce the behavior for the dog.

pretty sweetPros: awesome idea for a product, works great and love love love that it is weatherproof
over all works great but did take some adjusting for the dog to get used to. batteries last surprisingly long amount of time in the cold months
Cons: i wish the whole unit was a button b/c our dog had trouble pressing the one specific place
and in really cold weather (South Dakota gets into the negatives a lot) the outside unit (we have one both inside and out) tends to freeze up which stinks for our dog who is stuck outside for a little longer until we realize what is going on. just something to think about if you live in a blizzardy tundra but this doesn't happen often.
and it could be a little less cheesy but what do you do overall product works great our dog loves it and overall I love it!

Pet Doorbell - great concept, couple of quirksWe purchased the pet doorbell complete set with one paw and the chime. We set it to "bark" and it's adorable and a great help since we have a Havanese puppy who does not bark. We had been using the bells on a ribbon method prior to this and it worked fine as long as you were close enough by to hear her ringing them. Not so good if we were in other parts of the house. Now we have the barking chime up on top the refrigerator and the paw transmitter by the sliding door we use to let her out in the back yard. We love this system and she took to it immediately. The only two issues we have with it is that if she doesn't touch it square in the center of the big paw pad it does not go off. She's tiny, only 10 lbs, and sits there looking like "Hey, I hit it and it didn't work." Part of the problem is that she sometimes touches it elsewhere, like on one of the toe pads, and those don't sound the alarm. Fortunately she's determined and will try again…lol. Also, it would occasionally stick in the on position and keep barking after just 5 or 6 weeks of ownership. Maybe it gets grit under the paw pad or whatever the reason but the button wouldn't release after she pressed it. The good news is that we think (the jury is still out since it's been just a week) that we may have corrected both issues with relative ease. We took some White Lightening cleaner/lubricant that we use on our bike chains, turned the paw transmitter upside down so as not to get a pooling of liquid inside the mechanism, and gave it a light squirt. We then flipped it back over and dried the excess. We did this twice. White Lightening dries very well so we opted for that over silcone spray but perhaps that would work as well if you're careful not to spray too much inside the paw. The results were two fold: The paw pad is now more sensitive to her light touch so it generally goes off the first time she hits it and the unit has not gotten stuck in the on position again. I just finished ordering a second paw as a backup because we don't ever want to be without this thing. It's a lifesaver when your dog is a "non barker" like our little Havanese. Love this thing.
